All about Reliance Group of Companies

Reliance Industries is a large independent company in India. It is involved in the refining of oil, petrochemical, gas, retail and textile businesses and boasts a combined sale of more than $ 60 billion. It is a core unit of the Reliance Group, listed next to Tata and Birla among the country’s largest conglomerates.
Reliance Group was founded by Dhirubhai Ambani, who started a business in the 1950s. The company grew into a textile industry in the 1960s and entered the petrochemical sector in the 1980s, amassing Ambani’s wealth
After Ambani’s death in 2002, his sons Mukesh, the eldest, and Anil became embroiled in a business dispute. The group split in 2005 as Mukesh took over petrochemical and textile jobs while Anil was in charge of finance and communications. Mukesh leads Reliance Industries as chairman and expands its operations by accessing retail and telecommunications services.
The roots of the Ambani family are located in the Indian state west of Gujarat. After Narendra Modi, Gujarat’s long-time prime minister, took over as prime minister in May 2014, Mukesh soon promised a $ 1.8 trillion investment in three years.
Mukesh, his family and the company’s companies own about 40% of Reliance Industries. The Chair holds an MBA degree from Stanford University in the U.S. and he is one of the richest men in India.
